So, here I am. Put away my stuff, parked my car, got a tour. Place is...big. Nice, too. I didn't mean it wasn't nice or anything. Just big. Big isn't bad. Just weird. I'm gonna stop typing now.
My name is Fred Dukes. I'm new here. Was told about this journal thing, so I figured I'd go ahead and start doing it. I brought my old Dell laptop with me, and it's nice that I can use it, I guess. Justifies its existence and everything.
It kinda feels like I'm talking to myself. This is weird. Not like Mansion weird, but still weird. Not bad. Weird is not always bad. Sometimes it is though.
This is gonna take some getting used to. The journal I mean. Well, and the new place. And the whole going to school thing again. And being what I am. I mean, I've been like it forever, but I'm still not used to it. You know, it's all just kinda gonna take some getting used to. Gonna stop typing again.

On another note, she is a mute, therefore, technically she does not speak but understands Spanish. It is late and I should have been in bed hours ago.

Welcome, Fred. I'm Forge - you seem to have figured out the journal system okay. If you have any need for help with the tech stuff, my office is right next to Professor Xavier's - feel free to stop by in the next few days, the Xavier Institute provides all the residents here with a cell phone and other amenities.

Wait...you have an actual office? You don't reside in the basement with the machines that go ping and boowoopwoop and the crazy blonde? My world, she is changed. I don't know what to do now. I might have to start singing a song about stars.

I have had an office for quite some time now, thank you very much.

And no, I reside upstairs with the least crazy blonde. Although around here, "least crazy" is a completely relative term.

I obviously don't try to break in there often enough. I do love that we have enough blondes around this place that there can be a competition for 'least to most crazy'. Are there other categories? 'Blonde most likely to end up in Hell.' That's Illyana, obv.

New person! Welcome, welcome. Don't let them frighten you off with stories of dinosaurs and crazy English people. That's just their way.

I'm Laurie, recent Xavier's graduate and currently in Ireland in the beginning stages of the Laurie Collins World Tour 2009.

Just remember, never eat anything that small children give you there. Especially not if you hear ticking.

Weird's relative, dude. After the fourth or fifth person with weird colored skin or a tail or whatever, you start setting the bar for weird a LOT higher. You get used to it.

I'm Kyle Gibney - I'd be the tall one with claws and fangs, so for here - low on the weird. I'm also one half of the people you call if you break anything, need anything fixed, or have anything in your room that just isn't gonna work right with your powers, as long as it's not a techie thing.

If it's a techie thing, you call Forge.

Welcome to the school, Fred. I'm Meggan Szardos--weirdest thing about me? I'm the blonde that you might happen to spot levitating down a hallway some lone night if I accidentally float out a window.

Doubt it would happen, but you never know!

If I look like I could be in danger of smashing head first into a wall, maybe it would be good to wake me.

Otherwise, just quietly steer me back the way I came. That usually works.

Unfortunately for you, I teach all the math classes, and I am fairly certain your curriculum requires you to take one of the several that are offered, although I may be mistaken. Or you may have a special circumstance or some such thing I'm unaware of, in which case simply disregard me.

The school thing isn't as bad as you think. They'll figure out pretty fast what kind of educational help whatevers you need and get you back on track. I mean, dude, if I can pass Algebra II, anyone can.

But if anyone tries to tell you Herman Melville is quality reading, I recommend laughing at them, because OH HELL NO.

It's a good place to punch things that you're actually allowed to hit. People get upset around here if you put holes in the walls on a regular basis.
